Frequently Asked
What is the difference between Physical Sciences Paper 1 and Paper 2?
Paper 1 covers Physics — Mechanics, Waves, Electricity and Magnetism. Paper 2 covers Chemistry — Chemical Change, Matter and Materials, and Chemical Systems. Both are 3-hour papers worth 150 marks each.
Do the past papers include the data sheet and formula sheet?
Yes. Official NSC Physical Sciences papers always include the approved data sheet with constants and formulae. You will receive this in the actual exam, so it is good practice to use the same sheet when practising.
How many past papers should I do before the NSC exam?
Most teachers recommend doing at least 3 to 5 past papers per subject under timed exam conditions. Focus on understanding the memorandum explanations where you lose marks, not just repeating papers without reflection.
Are the papers CAPS-aligned?
Yes. All papers are official NSC papers set by the Department of Basic Education according to the CAPS curriculum. They are the actual exams written by Grade 12 learners.
